2.) I have heard of the mystery

3.) I believe that Paul is the apostle to the Gentiles and apostle for the dispensation of the Grace of God and therefore is the apostle from which I learn how to live my life.

5.) I believe God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th -- cuz he's God and he said he did it-- why would it take him any longer?

I've been told to tag people, which I wouldn't otherwise do -- so I tag Adelyn, Mrs. Tabb, Lisa, Adelyn again (just because) and Mallory.

Back by popular ( or maybe unpopular) demand:

5 weird Things about me (that don't have to do with my thoughts on scripture):

1) I like to make my own bread.

2) I will rarely eat microwave popcorn, popcorn made over the stove with real butter is a million times better.

3) I enjoy photography, but will rarely take a picture of people.

4) I've never had an "official" girlfriend

5) I have hiked 10 miles up about 5000 feet or so into a lake just to turn around and hike 10 miles back out in one day

Col. 3:16 -- "Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

Not only can we speak to ourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, but we use them to teach and admonish others -- making sure that unlike so much of today's music -- they communicate the word of Christ which dwells in us. When's the last time you let songs teach and admonish?

My recommendation: Try singing a song that contains the word of Christ, check it to make sure that it holds to the scripture -- if it does or doesn't add your own verses just off the top of your head -- see what you know.

My answers in plain text.

Is it your belief that The Gospels do not apply to Gentile believers? Do these Gospels only apply to Israel in a future time?
Rom 4:15 "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."
While all the scripture is all written for our learning, it is not all written to us or about us. Christ makes it clear as I pointed out earlier that he was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
You would not go build an ark just because it is written in the Bible because it is not written to you.
Here is an example;
Christ taught in Luke 12:32-33:"32Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth."
In Acts 2:45, the twelve taught the same thing - "And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need."
And it all made sense because they were expecting Rev. 13:17 "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
They had to sell their goods because they wouldn't be able to soon.
Otherwise,if you did what Jesus said you would sell all that you had. But then you would not be following Paul's instruction to you and I as Gentile believers at this time.

Is it your belief that Hebrews and James are only applicable to the Jews and not the Gentiles?
It is written, just as I stated above, that these books are designed to instruct those who they are written to, but they are written for our learning.

Is this an accurate reflection of what you believe?
No, not really. I'll try to clear it up alittle if I can.

'Israel' always means only the literal, physical descendants of Jacob.
Well, not always -- but it never refers to Gentiles, although it may refer to just a part of a group of Isrealites by the flesh.
Gen. 32:28 - "And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." Obviously the children of Israel are considered Israelites.
Matt. 23:15 - "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves." However, there were also proselyte Jews who could come to God through Israel.
Romans 9:6-8 "6Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
7Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
8That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed." They are not all Israel, which are of Israel -- so obviously all the children of Israel are not the children of God.

'Israel of God' in Gal. 6:16 means physical Israel alone.
Well the scripture seems to be refering to the Israel that followed after God -- hence the Israel of God.
Gal. 6:15-16 -- "15For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
16And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God."
So there are two groups spoken of in 6:16, them and the Israel of God. Them are those that followed after the rule of verse 15, which was a teaching of Paul to the Gentiles/Body of Christ.
Whereas throughout the history of Israel circumcision had availed for them. The reason Paul also mentions peace and mercy to the Israel of God here is because he spent alot of time dealing with them in the epistle to the Galatians.
The Galatians were going back to live after the law and Paul is showing them why this is not necessary. In Galatians 2 -- pauls describes how he went up to Jerusalem to the 12 and how Peter was preaching among the Gentiles.
Gal. 2:14 - "But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? "
Peter was a minister of the circumcision, not the uncircumcision (that was Paul's job). But at the end of the epistle it is needful that he send them grace and mercy as well because they gave him the right hands of fellowship (Gal 2:9)

The Church was born at Pentecost.
Which church? There is a church that is prophesied and one that is unprophesied in the scripture.
The prophesied one is in a sense "born" at Pentecost, the other church is not started until the apostle Paul revealed it.
Matt. 16:18 -- "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." This is a the prophesied church that Peter is told about by Christ.
Isaiah 8:14 -- "And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem." The prophesied church.
Col. 1:24-27 -- "Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
25Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:" This is the church, the body of Christ (Rom. 12:5) in which Jew and greek are one and which was a mystery.

God has 2 peoples with 2 separate destinies: Israel (earthly) and the Church (heavenly).
If the church refers to the church the body of Christ then I would agree.
When Christ came he came preaching, MAtt. 4:17 -- "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
So in Acts 2 they were still awaiting the kingdom, hence they were still told to repent, Acts 2:38 -- "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
They were still expecting the wrath of God, followed by the kingdom, hence they Acts 2:45 -- "45And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. "
Israel and the 12 apostles were or should have been seeking the earthly kingdom they had always been promised.
However, our hope as the church, the body of Christ is heavenly according to Eph. 2:6-7 -- "And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."

The Church was not prophesied as such in the O.T. but was a hidden mystery until the N.T.
I discuss this under the question if the church was born at Pentecost.

God's main purpose in history is literal Israel.
Well I think I sort of answered this in my last post, but Eph 1:9-11 -- "9Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:"
His purpose in his dealings with Israel is the redemption of the earth. His dealings with Jews and greeks as one in the church the body of Christ in the dispensation of grace is the redemption of the heavenlies.
2 Tim 1:9 -- "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began," He had a purpose with the Gentiles from before the world began too, it just was a mystery, until revealed through Paul.

The Church is a parenthesis in God's program for the ages.
The church the body of Christ is a "parenthesis" of sorts in God's program with Israel as described in Rom. 11:25 -- "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in."

The main heir to Abraham's covenant was Isaac and literal Israel.
Well the heirs of Abraham's covenant would seem to be the descendents of Abraham -- the father of faith.
According to Romans 4:1 -- "What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?" Abraham is our father.
And since Romans 1:13 -- "Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles." makes it clear that Romans was written to Gentiles,
Then as Rom. 4:12-16 makes it clear that we are heirs of the world (heaven and earth) with Abraham -- "12And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.
13For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:
15Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.
16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,"

There was no eternal Covenant of Redemption within the Trinity.
There was no Covenant of Works with Adam in the Garden of Eden.
There was no Covenant of Grace concerning Adam.
For all 3 of these questions I am going to need some clarification because the phrase covenant of redemption, works and grace cannot be found in the scriptures.
And I am not completely sure what you mean by these phrases,so maybe if you can rephrase them that would help.

Israel was rash to accept the Covenant at Mt. Sinai.
Well the Beginning of Exodus clearly describes 5 chances that God gave Israel, showing his Jehovahness to them. That whatever they asked he would provide. However after all those experiences they decided they wanted to enter an if then covenant with God.
Exod. 19:5 -- "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:" Which from their abilty to this point to obey God's voice, they should have realized was a bad idea.
I'm not saying I would have done any differently, but a Godly nation would have known better.
For the law was to bring the knowledge of sin, which it certainly accomplished. Rom 3:19-20 -- "Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."

The 'New Covenant' of Jer. 31:31- 34 is only for literal Israel and is not the New Covenant of Lk. 22:20
Jer. 31:31 makes it clear that this covenant is with the Israel, "I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:"
The new covenant of Jer. 31 is the same as that described in Luke because the one described in Luke is the same as described in Matt. 26:28 -- "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
And since Matt. 26 shows that this is the method of remission of sins for Israel and Jer. 31:34 - "for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." says that the new cov. of Jer. 31 will do the same I would say that they are the same new covenant.

God's program in history is mainly through separate dispensations.
God's plan has been known by God since the world began, but the way he accomplished that plan has been through dispensations of knowledge and instruction to man (col. 1:24-26, Eph. 1:9-11)

Some Dispensationalists have said that O.T. sinners were saved by works.
Genesis 15:4-6 -- "And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
5And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
Abraham was obviously not saved by works, so it must not have been a requirement.

Most Dispensationalists teach that men in the O.T. were saved by faith in a revelation peculiar to their Dispensation, but this did not include faith in the Messiah as their sin-bearer.
I think that the example from above also explains this -- the account describes Abram saved by faith in the promise of God to him.

The O.T. sacrifices were not recognized as the Gospel or types of the Messiah as sin-bearer, but only seen as such in retrospect.
Christ definatlely made it clear in verses such as Luke 22:20 that he would shed his blood, but even those closest to Christ (although there was all sorts of prophecy to show that their Messiah would act as the final sacrafice for their sins) did not realize that he must die for them.
Luke 18:32-34 makes this clear-- "For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
33And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
34And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken."

The Holy Spirit indwells only believers in the Dispensation of Grace, not O.T. and not after the Rapture.
Well the Spirit of God is describes as coming upon many different individuals in the O.T. , but it never makes any indication that it stayed on them at all times.
In the Dispensation of Grace the Holy Spirit is descibed as dwelling in the believer and sealing them unto the day of redemption (i.e. -- not leaving)
Rom 8:9 describes the indwelling -- "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
Eph. 1:13 descibes the sealing -- "13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,"
For those after the "gathering together" of the body of Christ (aka Rapture) -- the group also known as the little flock(Luke 12:32),
they can be filled or indwelt with the Holy spirit as Acts 2:4, 4:31 and I John 3:23-24 describe -- "And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us."
I John 3 also illustrates that if they keep not the commandments he would not dwell in them, so it seems contingent on something more -- the keeping of the commandments of vs. 23.
